Rat
January 31, 2012 at 1:47 am | Posted in Mountains, Skiing | Leave a commentI’m only seeing what I want to see in the forecast. Not much time to cook and sinter… you always go at the end of the window. Will a classic Nina blocking high roll in, or will the winter paradigm prevail that, whenever the models say something so bold, it’s wrong? This snowpack has more weaknesses than I want, and the bond to the pre-storm crust was shit. Will the MF metamorphism work its magic, or will that bathtub ring persist? Will it cool on the backside of the ridge? What about wind? It’s only two models. “Come into my thorny den”, said the spider, “I’ll let you glimpse your dreams.”
With a forecast like this, the rat doesn’t sleep.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...MOSTLY CLOUDY. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN THE EVENING. SNOW LEVEL 3000 FEET. .THURSDAY...PARTLY SUNNY. FREEZING LEVEL 6000 FEET. .THURSDAY NIGHT...MOSTLY CLOUDY IN THE EVENING THEN CLEARING. FREEZING LEVEL 7000 FEET. .FRIDAY...SUNNY. FREEZING LEVEL 8000 FEET. .FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY. FREEZING LEVEL 8000 FEET.
Edit: “You dream up what you want to accomplish in your life. I don’t know that many people get a chance … to fufill that. But that was, I had at that point, fullfilled a dream. Totally.” – Bill Briggs.
