About

Nature is good. Exploring it and testing it is better.

These pages have become a place for me to reflect on, wallow in, gloat about, and rehash life.

Since this page gets more hits than nearly everything else on my page, this belongs here for your perusal: Are there as many truths as there are observers, or observers plus one? (Or is there only one?)

This photo was taken on a day that my life was subtly and perhaps permanently altered. I’d always known in my soul that I loved alpine climbing. This January dawn, with crampons planted in rime ice and duff, completely alone on a shattered volcano, was positively enlightening. It was everything I’d hoped it would be. It’s all been effortless uphill and downhill from there.
